EU funding for sustainable mobility: Regional integrated transport strategy of Severna Primorska gets the go-ahead
SLOVENIA, December 24 - The project aims to support the development of a regional integrated transport strategy that will lay down measures for advancing sustainable mobility in the Gorica development region for a period of seven years. Thus, it paves the way for strategic and goal-oriented transport planning at regional level that promotes sustainable forms of transport.
The main objectives of the project are as follows:
- To improve the quality of life in a connected and green community.
- To reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector.
- To ensure transport system accessible to all, enabling greater social inclusion.
- To ensure greater road safety for all road users.
- To improve accessibility of basic services and activities for all residents.
The total amount of eligible costs for the implementation of the project amounts to €100,000. The project will receive €68,000 from the European Union’s Cohesion Fund.
The project will be implemented by the Posočje Development Centre in the framework of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 under priority Sustainable (cross-)regional mobility and connectivity.
